Singapore Botanic Gardens Part 2
28mm, f/3.5, ISO 400, 1/250 sec
I got up early on Sunday morning to visit the gardens again, this time for an extensive visit that covered almost all of the 157-acre park.
Instead of cramming this page full of photos, below are just a few examples of the 221 photos that I took. Click on any of them to view a larger version on Flickr (from now on all photos on the blog will be embedded Flickr uploads).
This batch of photos mainly focuses on the beautiful National Orchid Garden, which contains pretty much every kind of orchid imaginable. I, for one, had no idea that there are so many variants of the orchid, every one unique in its delicate beauty. It costs a mere S$5, ~£2.10, to enter the orchid garden (although I got a student discount that resulted in only S$1).
All the images that you see taken at 28mm focal length were taken with my brand new Canon 28mm f/2.8 wide angle lens. They won’t look very wide-angle, however. That’s because my Rebel XSi‘s body has an APS-C-sized sensor, meaning that full-frame lenses are scaled up by 1.6X. The 28mm (being a full-frame EF lens) results in about 45mm focal length on my camera, therefore.
View the rest of the images in this set on my Flickr photostream. Enjoy!

The number of epiphytes in the gardens was staggering.
